From owner Heart of the City Neighborhoods: "HOCN acquired 178 Whitney Place from the City of Buffalo's demolition list. With two demolitions already done on each side of the property, we wanted to save this stucco home on this wonderful block of Whitney Place. Construction started with removing the unsalvageable 'carriage house' in the rear of the property in 2012. Once construction was finished up the block on 192 Whitney, HOCN began gutting and rehabilitating 178 Whitney in the late winter of 2013. Construction is expected to be done in the Spring of 2014, when the single family home will then be sold to a first-time homebuyer under our Home Ownership Provides Equity (HOPE) Program."
