Recent Events and Actions Taken

  • 2002 - Public School #60 closes
  • 2014 - DePaul, a Rochester-based not-for-profit organization, renovated the former school. The $20 million project received city, state, and private funding, and salvaged much of the building’s original architecture. (The gym floor, chalkboards, and bathroom granite were also reused in the interior). The Buffalo News
  • September 2014 - added to the National Register of Historic Places.
