Recent Events and Actions Taken

  • January 2021 - facade is being removed and the original facade is being restored.
  • Angela Keppel of Buffalo Place: "This is one of Buffalo Place's New York Main Street projects. It's a facade removal and restoration project. It's being completed by the owner, New Wave Energy, who purchased the building a few years ago. Their offices are in there right now as well. They've redone the top two floors, and it looks really nice with lots of exposed brick.

They are in the process of redoing the second and third floors, which are very unique. There's a large central staircase between the two floors. The building has an interesting history - it's quite old, but often gets overlooked because of the 70s muck. It was a part of AM&As at one point when they were still on that side of the street and then it was Manufacturers Hanover Bank regional offices when they came into the area (which then became Rochester Savings, Charter One and then Citizens if my flow of banks is correct . . . I recall the Citizens Bank being in the first floor up until a few years ago)."
