Physical Description
Two story home with brick porch in a strong Hamlin Park neighborhood near Olmsted's Humboldt Parkway.
Current Condition
Photos from May 2013 show a building in good condition with a solid roof, new windows, decent brick work, glass block basement windows, and some landscaping. It appears to only need some replacement porch support and 2 windows on an otherwise intact exterior.
History
Sister's Hospital has owned the house since 1989.
It has been used as the field office for Christa Construction during a recent run of renovations at the hospital.
Recent Events and Actions Taken
- May 8, 2013 - Preservation Board receives application from Sister's Hospital to demolish structure "due to extremely dangerous conditions (water damages, broken windows, & broken doors)." Sister's has owned the house since 1989 and should be responsible for any upkeep or repairs. Actual reason for demo is most likely to expand parking lot where houses at 71, 73, and 75 Kensington have already been lost. 91 Kensington is also threatened with demolition by Sister's.
- May 16, 2013 - Preservation Board: "Incomplete Application: Staff will notify Hannah Demolition to resubmit application due to incorrect photos and lack of information"
