The building was three stories high and built of brownstone.

Current Condition

Demolished. Garage portion remains and the lower level is used for subway train storage.

History

  • Built in 1917.
  • Served rail passenger & freight traffic as well as lake ships that would dock alongside
  • Abandoned by the railroad in 1962
  • Demolished in 1979/1980 to make way for the NFTA’s Metro system

Recent Events and Actions Taken

  • March 2016 - NFTA proposes a $42 million reuse project of the train shed to include a passenger station and commercial development. Unfortunately, no recreation of the original passenger station is mentioned.
