  • Renovated 2003-2005, in use

History

  • 1926 - Construction is completed.
  • 1954 - As part of a large redistricting initiative by the Buffalo Board of Education, East High's boundaries were redrawn
  • 1977 - The school was closed due to a federal desegregation order and became Buffalo Vocational Technical Center

Recent Events and Actions Taken

  • 1999 - The Vocational school was almost closed until it met with mounting public pressure.
  • 2002 - The Vocational school was closed
  • 2003-2005 - Renovated as part of City of Buffalo's Phase I school renovations
  • 2005 - The building re-opened as East High School
  • 2018 - designated a local historic landmark by the Buffalo Common Council
