History

  • 1911 - The school was formed as Pickering Vocational High School.
  • 1926 - The Sycamore Street building was constructed.
    • The school was later be renamed for former Buffalo Superintendent George Emerson.

Recent Events and Actions Taken

  • 2005 - Emerson High closes, but retains a satellite on Chippewa Street.
  • Renovations performed after the school closed
  • Now used as the Harvey Austin Elementary School
