Current Condition

In use as a hotel and retail location. The exterior retains most of its original layout, except for an unusual rooftop addition advertising the Hampton Inn.

History

  • 1922 - The Ford/Meadows House was torn down for the Jackson Building
  • 1926 - Opened as a mixed used building. Designed by the Buffalo firm of Bley & Lyman.

Recent Events and Actions Taken

  • 1997 - Benderson Development purchased both the Ford Hotel and the Jackson Building.
    • The Ford Hotel was demolished in 1999 for a parking lot.
  • 2001 - A 137-room Hampton Inn was built in the Jackson Building, retaining the exterior and large windows, wide hallways and wrought-iron bannisters.
