History

  • Home and studio of Amos W. Sangster (Canadian-American, 1833-1904), noted artist, painter, etcher, printmaker, inventor, illustrator and respected art instructor primarily known for his etchings of the Niagara Falls region, and for his landscape and marine paintings in oil and watercolor.
  • From 1897 on, he maintained his studio out of his home at 448 Seventh Street in the city where he held annual exhibitions of his artwork.
