History

Built in 1911, this structure served as First Church of Christ, Scientist until it was converted into the Karpeles Manuscript Museum.

  • The architecture is strange because such emphasis on classical and pagan architecture is highly uncommon for churches. However, the ideology of the Church of Christ, Scientist may have impacted this choice of classical forms.
