History
Recent Events and Actions Taken
- August 2012 - Work began on architect Tommaso Briatico's $2.3 million design for a renovation mix of commercial and upscale residential at the Fenton Hotel and 1526 Main. 1524 Main had been targeted for demolition as part of this original project.
- January 2014- Per the Buffalo news:
- "Ashker’s Juice Bar will be coming to Main and West Ferry streets. The restaurant will go into the ground floor of a commercial building that is being renovated, and will sit next to Fenton Village, market-rate housing that Sinatra has developed on West Ferry."
- April 2014 - Per Buffalo Rising:
- "Sinatra & Company originally intended to demolish the small structure at 1524 Main Street but has reversed course. Connors says they will soon begin drafting reuse plans for the property and envision two upper floor apartments and approximately 2,000 sq.ft. of ground floor commercial space."
- September 2015 - Exterior of the building gets a SHPO-approved paint job as part of its renovation
