Current Condition

Demolished for a parking garage. Parking garage demolished for a surface parking lot.

History

  • Before the theatre was built, the site was occupied by Wahle's Opera House
  • March 6, 1905 - Vaudeville theatre opens. Designed by Leon H. Lampert and Son Theatrical Architects
  • 1929 - Building sold
  • 1942 - Building became vacant
  • 1945 - Neighbors Denton, Cottier, and Daniels purchased the building to demolish it for a parking lot.
  • At some point at this time, a parking garage is build and then demolished.
  • 1976 - Denton, Cottier, and Daniels move to the suburbs. Their building is demolished, leaving the entire block empty for nearly 40 years and counting
