History
- General David Burt built a mansion on this parcel in the early 1800s.
- 1851 - Burt sells the property to the City of Buffalo for use as a school
- 1854 - Central High School opens
- The city twice expanded the building
- It was Buffalo's only high school until 1897.
- 1914 - City builds Hutchinson High School as a replacement
- 1921 - Parcel sold to the state for $401,000. The profit went towards the construction of City Hall
- 1926 - School demolished
- 1928-1932 - Current building constructed. Designed by Green & Wicks
